Hospital Referrals
We have close links with Alton Community Hospital (ACH) which offers Physiotherapy services, Hearing Aid Clinics, and a wide range of Outpatient Clinics with visiting consultants from Basingstoke and Winchester. X-ray facilities are available at ACH. If a doctor wants an emergency X-ray taken they will send the patient for X-ray. We have the PACS digital imagery system used by the hospital in the surgery so the doctor will get the result immediately often before the patient has had a chance to walk back to the surgery.

Patient Choice
Patients can be referred to the consultant and hospital of their choice. Please discuss with the referring doctor at the time you are referred where you think would be the best choice for you. There is a range of private hospitals available to you if you require private treatment.
Private Prescriptions
When a GP refers a patient privately, the patient must be aware that they will be responsible for all costs in the appointments – including their first prescription and ongoing prescriptions if deemed inappropriate to switch to primary care or not on the primary care formulary.
All requests for Prescriptions must be received from Consultant in an appropriate letter explaining reasons for treatment option, any hand written notes will not be accepted
